About Catharine Kendall Hannoosh
I grew up learning from my Oma that life feels better when we're connected to the natural world.
Years later, as a Brooklyn mom of two, I found myself returning to that wisdom again and again. Like many parents, I was looking for ways to help my family feel more grounded, creative, and connected in a fast-paced world. The answer kept bringing me back outside—to cooking, to plants, to making things with my hands, and to slowing down enough to notice the season we were actually living in.
Green Magic Workshop grew from that journey.
Today, through Green Magic Workshop, I offer hands-on experiences for children, families, and adults that bring together nature, cooking, creativity, and herbal medicine-making. We spend time outdoors exploring plants and the natural world, and indoors cooking, crafting, tasting, and creating together.
My work is rooted in a simple belief: meaningful experiences in nature help us build confidence, curiosity, resilience, and connection—to ourselves, each other, and the living world around us.
I hold a Master's degree in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a BFA from the University of Oregon. My background includes work in the arts, cooking, gardening, herbalism, and early childhood education in New York City.
Whether we're making dandelion pesto, gathering flowers for potions, learning about medicinal plants, or cooking a meal together, my hope is that every workshop helps people feel more capable, connected, and at home in the natural world.
I hope to share this work with you soon.
Warmly,
Catharine Kendall Hannoosh
